Newly promoted FC St. Pauli is also relying on centre-forward Andreas Albers in the Bundesliga. The experienced Dane has extended his contract, the club announced on Thursday without giving any details on the term. Albers (34) moved from Jahn Regensburg to Hamburg before the promotion season and scored one goal in 17 league appearances.

“Andreas Albers is an experienced centre forward who can help us in the Bundesliga thanks to his personality, positive attitude and strong identification with the club,” said St. Pauli’s new head coach Alexander Blessin. This will be Alber’s first appearance in Germany’s strongest league. He has scored 37 goals in 150 second division games so far.
