Seattle Mariners reliever Andres Munoz will replace teammate Logan Gilbert on the American League roster for the All-Star Game.
Gilbert is scheduled to start Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels in his team’s final game before the All-Star break and will not be available to pitch at the event in Arlington, Texas.
Munoz, 25, had 15 saves in 17 starts entering Friday’s games. He had a 1.45 ERA with 45 strikeouts and 16 walks in 37 1/3 innings of work.
Munoz becomes the 37th player to earn his first career All-Star invite this season.
