Antetokounmpo’s Greece face Doncic’s Slovenia

The Greeks beat Egypt on Thursday night and qualified for the semi-finals of the Olympic qualifying tournament in Piraeus, where they will face Luka Doncic’s Slovenia on Saturday.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece qualified on Thursday for the semi-finals of the Olympic qualifying tournament in Piraeus (Greece), where they will face Luka Doncic’s Slovenia on Saturday.

The Greeks, without their rested NBA star, beat Egypt (93-71) to finish top of Group B and face the Slovenians, second in Group A, in the semi-finals.

Forced to beat the New Zealanders by at least 10 points after their opening defeat against Croatia (108-92), the latter did not tremble (104-78), carried by the Dallas Mavericks star (36 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) who allowed his team to believe in a participation in the Olympics. In Riga (Latvia), the semi-finals will pit Brazil against the Philippines and Latvia against Cameroon, while in Valencia (Spain) they will pit Spain against Finland and the Bahamas against Lebanon.

The first of each of the four Olympic Qualifying Tournaments currently underway in the world qualifies for the Paris Olympic Games (July 26-August 11). There is still one ticket to the last four to be taken at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico, which is being played on the night of Thursday to Friday between Ivory Coast and Mexico (Puerto Rico and Italy have already qualified).
