A sparkling start to the summer for the Arcieri Tre Torri of Cardano al Campo, who thanks to their young people have won a series of medals in various national and international competitions, including Samuele Barigozzi’s under-18 compound team gold at the 2024 European Youth Championships in Ploiesti (Romania).
The premises are excellent in view of the next Italian Championships, which will take place in September, between countryside (Schilpario), plate (Camaiore) and 3D (Cuglieri – Torre del Pozzo).
“We know he is good, but it always excites us to see him win. Samuele Barigozzi has accustomed us to valuable performances and has distinguished himself several times in national level competitions, even winning the Italian Indoor Championships in Pordenone (15-18 February 2024), after the two silvers in 2023 (target and indoor) in the male student class. Yet seeing him triumph at the first international competition of a certain weight made us excited in the knowledge that it is a pleasant confirmation of the hard work done in recent years”, they say and underline with enthusiasm from the Cardano company.
The competition was tough, with very respectable scores, but in the end, after a first clash ended in a shoot-off with Croatia, the team composed of Samuele Barigozzi, Omar Cecco and Christian Gabrielli got the better of Spain, in a clash always managed in the lead. The Italian expedition in Romania was very convincing, but the gold of Samuele’s team stands out together with the other first place of the under 18 recurve team, followed by a long list of second and third places.
«A month ago, Giovanni Macchi also made us dream with the third place among the 2013-2014-2015 boys in the National Final of the Pinocchio Trophy in Latina. After a very close race, Giovanni had finished tied with the second, but slipped to the lowest step of the podium due to the number of golds (23 to 22)».
The summer events will slow down for a month, in view of the Olympics and Paralympics, but will restart with fireworks in September, with 3 Italian championships (countryside, plate and 3D) in four weeks.
“We hope to see our little great archers on the podium again, for a crackling end to the season” conclude the Arcieri Tre Torri.
