Arnautovic hints at team resignation – sport.ORF.at

Austria’s record international footballer Marko Arnautovic announced his resignation from the ÖFB team on Tuesday evening in Leipzig following the bitter 1:2 defeat against Turkey in the round of 16 of the European Football Championship in Germany.

“I’m going to talk to my family now and then we’ll see what happens. But it could be that this was my last game for the national team,” said the 35-year-old ÖFB captain in a TV interview. The Inter Milan legionnaire has played 116 games for the national team and scored 37 goals.

“I have to get over it now. The feeling is crazy right now. I have to reflect on it with my family and recharge everything. For me personally, it was a very happy season, but this beat everything. Let’s see, I hope that I can come to my senses in the next few days and then I will make a decision,” said Arnautovic in his first reaction after the European Championship exit.
