Assault with a Baseball Bat: Parma Carabinieri Identify and Report Suspect

The Carabinieri of the Parma Oltretorrente station, at the end of the investigations, were able to identify and then report at large, a 20-year-old, born in Parma who in recent days, in via Sidoli at the height of an argument, hit a 25-year-old Italian on the head with a metal baseball bat, causing him a head injury. The residents alerted the Carabinieri, two days ago, for a fight in progress between some young people in via Sidoli. On site, the soldiers noticed a car with four young people on board, one of whom was particularly agitated. He reported that he had been attacked shortly before inside a “small park” by a young foreigner, who had hit him on the head with a baseball bat, then ran away. The ambulance, on site, then transported the boy to the hospital. Thus began the investigations, supported by the statements made by the people who were present at the attack and who essentially confirmed what the victim had said. The argument between the two was allegedly caused by an alleged debt of 5 euros that the victim had with her attacker. The attacker was identified and tracked down at his home. The Carabinieri later managed to find the baseball bat used during the attack in a green area near Via Budellungo. Without prejudice to the principle of innocence until a final sentence, the Carabinieri reported the 20-year-old to the Parma Public Prosecutor’s Office at liberty for aggravated personal injury and illegal possession of objects capable of offending.
