Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa stumbled (6-2, 1-6, 6-4) this Sunday against Croatian Donna Vekic in the round of 16 of the Wimbledon tournament, the third ‘Grand Slam’ of the season where the former world number two was recovering her best version.
The Catalan, smiling after many physical and mental problems trying to compete at the highest level again, suffered a painful defeat in a match that was never-ending, with four rain breaks in the English capital. In her best week of the season, Badosa turned the match around and had her chances in the third set, but Vekic was the one who wrote her own story, reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the first time.
