Nigerian-born American football player Nelson Agholor is one of the leading receivers in the National Football League (NFL). After signing a new one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, he hopes to help his team reach the Super Bowl in 2025.

The 31-year-old is approaching his 10th season in the NFL, making him one of the most experienced players at his position. He was part of the Philadelphia Eagles team that won the Super Bowl in 2018, so he knows what it takes to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Baltimore won the AFC North title last season, which was a good year for the franchise. They were just one step away from the Super Bowl, as they were defeated by the eventual winners, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the AFC Championship Game. Baltimore fans will be happy that Agholor signed a one-year extension to stay with the franchise, as he showed during the playoffs last season that he is a big-time player. The Nigerian scored a touchdown and made two receptions in the Ravens’ 34-10 victory over the Houston Texans in the divisional cycle.
Agholor also shined in Baltimore’s divisional games against the Cincinnati Bengals in 2023. He scored touchdowns in both of those regular-season games. Those games will be important again this year if the Ravens are to defend their AFC North crown.
It’s now been 12 years since Baltimore last won a Super Bowl championship. They beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 in Super Bowl XLVII in a classic encounter. John Harbaugh was in charge for that game and he remains the head coach looking to bring more success to the Maryland-based team.
Agholor and the Ravens begin their new season in the NFL Kickoff game against the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on September 6.
