A goalkeeper is leaving FC Bayern for at least one season. He is heading to Austria – but only to the second division.

A goalkeeper is leaving FC Bayern for at least one season. He is heading to Austria – but only to the second division.

FC Bayern’s talented goalkeeper Tom Hülsmann will be loaned to Austrian second division club SKN St. Pölten next season. The Munich club announced this on Wednesday. In the past season, he played 29 regional league games for the record champions’ second team.

“We are convinced that he is now ready to take the next step in a professional league and that he will find the best conditions for this in St. Pölten,” explains Jochen Sauer, Director of Youth Development and Campus at FC Bayern.

Hülsmann went through all youth teams

Hülsmann joined the Bundesliga club in 2017, at the same time as the opening of the Bayern Campus. Before that, he played for Eintracht Trier. He went through all of the youth teams at the record champions. He was only given a professional contract last year.
