Less than a month before the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the BBC unveiled a one-minute video in which it invites spectators to follow the Games which will be orchestrated in France for the first time in 100 years.

Titled « Welcome to the City of Love » (Welcome to the City of Love), the promotional clip highlights the representation of emblematic monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pont d’Iéna, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and the alleys of the Butte Montmartre, but also the Panthéon and the Esplanade du Trocadéro, all embellished with a succession of animated characters, sometimes sportsmen, sometimes residents or visitors of the city. ” City of Lights “.

But beyond this stylized representation of Paris and some of the sports included in the Games program, the whole thing is also enhanced by a soundtrack where we hear the iconic song ” The Hymn to Love “ sung by Edith Piaf.

The overall rendering is finally enhanced by a pastel chromatic painting alternating shades of red / pink, yellow / orange, blue and green. Like an evocation of the colors of the Olympic rings, but also of the soft colors chosen by Paris 2024 to accompany its visual identity, in other words, its “Look of the Games”.
