Bon-Encontrais crowned Champions of Regional 2, gain access to Regional 1 for 2025.
Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, the Indians hosted the final stages of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional 2 Baseball Championship.
Newly promoted, after the regional 3 championship title last year, the Indians have won their 25th regional championship title, in all categories, since their creation in 1993.
In the first semi-final, the Pitcher’s of Pineuilh won by a score of 12-6 against the Panthères of Pessac. The Indians won their semi-final against the Razorback alliance of Brive / Angels of Périgueux by a score of 10-7. Led quickly 6-0 from the second, the Bon-Encontrais recovered and after a great offensive set with 8 points, they kept the advantage and qualified for the final.
In the third-place play-off, the Pessac Panthers won 8-2 against the Brive Razorbacks/Périgueux Angels alliance.
In the final, thanks to a very great Luis Rojas Cuicas on the mound, well helped by a big defense, the Indians unfold in attack, quickly take the advantage and are never worried. They finish with a great victory on the score of 13-4.
The Bon-Encontrais, crowned champions of Regional 2, will move up to Regional 1 for 2025, finishing this great 2024 season with a record of 18 wins and 4 losses.
Indians pitcher Luis Rojas Cuicas was crowned MVP of the finals thanks to his superb performance.
