Dortmund. The new Bundesliga schedule means that Borussia Dortmund will play its first away game at Werder Bremen. Reason for a few digs.
After the crisp start against Eintracht Frankfurt on the weekend of August 24th, Borussia Dortmund will travel away for the first time a week later. The first BVB-The away game of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season will take place at SV Werder Bremen – a real traditional duel. On “X” (formerly Twitter) there was already humor on the day of the announcement.
“What did Schlotti tell Fülle here?” BVB wanted to know from its fans. The official SVW account also joined in the responses at “X”: “We have the first away game of the season in the Weserstadion,” paired with an excited smiley. At least the slight smile of ex-Bremer Niclas Füllkrug suggests that this scenario is certainly within the realm of possibility.
BVB allusion to Werder guest block, the answer follows promptly
“Will the guest block be ready by then?” the BVB admin wanted to know smugly. Background: The guest block in Bremen’s Weserstadion was in the upper tier until recently. However, when pyrotechnics were set off there, parts of the home area below were regularly cleared. That’s why the guest block has now been moved to the lower tier and remodeled during the summer break. The BVB fans will now inaugurate it.

“Incidentally, that is the seventh highest waterfall in Germany,” the Dortmund team explained smugly at “X” in reference to the height of the stadium roof. “Okay. We would be happy with seventh place. It’s great that you are too,” replied the Bremen team. The place that would have been enough for international competition last season was temporarily held by SVW. In the end, Bremen came ninth.
