Bronny James reached a major milestone on Friday in the Lakers’ fourth game of the NBA Summer League and offered a glimpse into the team’s future. Los Angeles Lakers.

The No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft finished the Lakers’ 99-80 loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday in Las Vegas with eight points, the highest point percentage in the Summer League.

With this loss, the Lakers lost their fourth consecutive game this summer after losing all three games at the California Summer Classic last week.

In addition to his eight points – his best scoring performance this summer – on 3 of 14 shooting, James again showed he can impact the game with his defense. Entering the night, James averaged 3.5 rebounds per game and added five defensive rebounds and two steals to his stat line. James did not hit a single 8-point shot from three-point range on Friday, some of which were just an inch or two off the inbounds.

He made a great dunk in the first quarter, completing a pass from Dalton Knecht, the Lakers’ 2024 first-round pick.

When the Summer League is completed, James will join his father, four-time NBA Finals champion and league Most Valuable Player LeBron James, as the first father-son duo in NBA history to play for the same team at the same time.

Bronny James and his Lakers (0-4) will next face the Boston Celtics on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
