Over the years, Killian Hayes has become, in the imagination of NBA fans, a sort of meme that unfortunately comes up in every conversation that contains the word “bust”. Arriving at the Pistons with the 7th pick in the 2020 Draft, he never really managed to establish himself in the team, and the recruitments of Cade Cunningham and then Jaden Ivey on the back line in the following years almost definitively buried the Hayes project in Michigan.

Released at the end of spring by the Motor City franchise, Killian Hayes briefly participated in the preparation campaign of the French basketball team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, but there again, he was not kept.
