From June 23 to 29 this year, more than 200 young people from the United States and more than 300 young people from China gathered in Rongcheng to participate in the 2024 “Gulingyuan” Sino-US Youth Exchange Week. They wandered among the mountains and rivers of Fujian, listened to the old people telling stories about Guling, planted trees symbolizing friendship, checked in at natural and cultural landmarks, and collided, communicated, and felt together in salons, forums, singing and dancing, sports, food, cocktail parties and other activities. Their bright smiles were filled with the century-old love of Guling.
Guests from China and the United States attended the “Mountain and Sea Love·Ningxia Red Wine Tasting” event.
The wind from Guling keeps blowing to the other side of the ocean.
Friendship between countries depends on friendship between people. As Mu Yanling, a researcher of Guling history and culture and the founder of “Friends of Guling”, said: “The history of Guling tells us that people from different countries and cultural backgrounds can establish friendly relations and pass them on from generation to generation. The former “Guling Girlfriends” hugged each other tightly and talked intimately.
