There is another rumor about Mats Hummels. The German football champion is said to be interested.

Speculation continues about the future of Mats Hummels. According to a report in “Kicker”, German football champions Bayer Leverkusen are considering the former Dortmund player. There are speculations about the 35-year-old, whose contract with BVB was not renewed despite a strong second half of the season, according to “Kicker”. Hummels is therefore being considered by the Werkself as a replacement for national player Jonathan Tah, who is said to have reached an agreement with FC Bayern Munich. As a leader and well-communicating defensive leader, the former national player would fit perfectly into coach Xabi Alonso’s possession-based football. However, “Kicker” claims to have learned that Hummels’ speed could be an obstacle.

Recently, Hummels reacted to the speculation about his professional future with humor. “It’s difficult to find a jersey for a sport that doesn’t result in stupid rumors,” the 35-year-old defender recently wrote in an Instagram story alongside a selfie from a gym. The former Borussia Dortmund professional added a laughing smiley face.

Hummels had already been linked with the Spanish first division football club RCD Mallorca. In Italy it was said that Hummels would move to AS Roma in Serie A. But AC Milan and Saudi Arabia are also said to be interested in Hummels.
