Carlos Alcaraz Aims to Make History by Winning Wimbledon After Roland Garros Victory

Last June, Carlos Alcaraz managed to win Roland Garros in an exciting final against Alexander Zverev. This victory gave him his third Grand Slam, with which he also broke the record of being the youngest tennis player to win on all three surfaces.

Now it’s Wimbledon’s turn, which is played on one of the Murcia native’s favourite surfaces. He proved this in 2023 when he defeated Novak Djokovic. ‘Carlitos’ will have to defend his title at Wimbledon, something that will be a great challenge for him after having been eliminated from the Queens in the second round.

And these will not be the only challenges that await him in London, since if he manages to win the title, he could add his name to an exclusive list that includes some of the best tennis players in history, including Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

This milestone is nothing more and nothing less than winning Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year. Very few players have been able to achieve this in history and Carlos, at 21 years old, could be next on the list.

The tennis player from El Palmar is one of the favourites to win the tournament, and he proved it in his first match against Mark Lajal, in which he achieved a convincing victory in three sets (7-6, 7-5, 6-2). Aleksandar Vukic awaits him in the second round, in what promises to be a great battle as well.
