Caroline Dhenin Retains French Champion Title in Women’s 50-Year-Old Category

Victorious of Sandrine Copillet in the final 6/0, 6/2, Caroline Dhenin won the title of French champion in the 50-year-old women’s category. She retains the trophy she had already won last year, at the Roland-Garros stadium.

The week was again expeditious for Caroline Dhenin (3/6, PCA). Despite a hard-fought first round (victory 6/4, 6/1), she did not lose a single set to reach the final, inflicting two 6/0s on her opponents in the process.

I was the favorite so I had to honor that rank.“, then declared the French champion, who arrived in Le Touquet with a competition already under her belt!

Last weekend I was in Aix-en-Provence for the French Pickleball Open. I had to leave Monday morning, play Monday afternoon and then“, explained Caroline Dhenin, crowned doubles champion alongside Lorie-Anne Vigneau during this historic weekend in the South of France. The goal when I came here was to not get injured and to manage the pressure..”

Mission accomplished for the TM Ollioulais licensee who was the clear favourite. The hardest part is keeping your level of play. You have to stay above it, stay the course.,” she explained, satisfied with her eighth title as French champion, seniors and juniors combined.

It’s a source of pride. Everyone thinks it’s normal to win when you’re the favourite, but it’s also an effort for us, we’re expected to deliver. You have to face adversity, so it’s a real satisfaction to have held on.

Already crowned last year, there is no doubt that this great player will be keen to put her title back into play next summer and bring other cups home.I am a player, I like the fight, so to speak, so I think that is what keeps my passion intact. I like to get on the field and fight with a ball against others, I like it.”

So, see you in 2025 for a ninth title?
