Caroline Garcia Bounces Back with Victory in Roland-Garros amid Tough Competition

Carline Garcia had no room for error on Tuesday. Eliminated in the second round at Roland-Garros, she had to get back on track.

Facing a player who had already beaten her twice, namely Anna Blinkova, the French number 1 successfully held her own. Still as aggressive in the game (36 winning shots, 40 unforced errors) Garcia regularly overwhelmed her opponent to win in two tight sets (6-4, 7-5).

In the second round, she will be quite clearly the favourite since it is Bernarda Pera (97th in the world) who will face her before potentially meeting Ostapenko, 14th, in the third round.
