Celebrating Excellence: 2024 LIFEBA Cup Tournament Winners and League Teams

As part of the opening ceremony of the 2024 season of the Salamanca Women’s Basketball League (LIFEBA), the board of directors and special guests celebrated the effort and dedication of the teams with the awarding of the first three places by categories of the cup tournament.

Three first places in the Cup tournament are awarded

After the teams registered for the league tournament were presented, the first three places per category of the cup tournament were awarded by the board of directors.

In the second force category of the cup tournament, the Blaze quintet takes third place, Amazonas second place and Lynx first place.

Within the intermediate category, third place in the cup tournament went to Oxigen, second place to Xido and third place to Teache Socks.

The first force category of the cup tournament had third place for Ductos, second place for Teache and third place for Oxigen.

And the Maxi category (40 and over) of the cup tournament had third place for Teache, second place for Valle de Santiago and first place for Cáscaras.

Competing in the second force for the league tournament are The Fénix, Blaze, Amazonas, Lynx, Lincitas Ornelas, Club Clavijo, Dark’s Jr and Familia Valle.

In the intermediate category, teams such as Colonia Guanajuato, Deportivo Vázquez, Oxygen, Star’s, Lincitas, Ductos, Osas Esiabac, Deportivo Yesmat, Woman’s, Amazonas, Y pos ya!!, Abejas, Tío Benjas and Bere’s Team participate.

Within the first force category, Oxygen, Rovagu, Ductos, Teache Socksy and Effort compete.

Meanwhile, within the Maxi category, Teache Socks, Deportivo Vázquez, Cáscaras, Valle de Santiago, Star’s of 40’s and Deportivo Yesmat are participating.

Once the traditional parade was held and the first three places in each category were awarded, the board of directors gave way to the swearing-in ceremony carried out by Fabiola Rodríguez, a Salamanca player selected for the state in the 2024 CONADE Games.

Likewise, an inaugural declaration was also made by Yolanda Solorio, President of the Vallense Basketball League and LIFEBA Salamanca player.

The highlight of the opening ceremony was the kick-off with the participation of two players from different teams and a member of the referees’ association.

LIFEBA with long tablecloths with two decades of foundation

LIFEBA Salamanca was founded two decades ago and was started by Benjamín Martínez (Uncle Benjas) and was initially known as the Salamanca Municipal Children’s and Youth League (LIMIJ). Later, due to new administration issues, it was decided to take its current name.

Currently the board of directors is made up of Liliana Jasso Pacheco (president), Gloria Vázquez (treasurer) and Patricia Montiel (secretary).
