Celebrations and Victories in Trois-Pistoles and Saint-Pascal for Local Minor Baseball Teams

There were a lot of people in Trois-Pistoles and Saint-Pascal on Monday, as local minor baseball celebrated with two games in the Puribec Senior League.

At Paul-Émile Dubé stadium, the Braves Batitech defeated Bérubé GM by a score of 7-4, although they were without the services of their two leaders in Dany Paradis-Giroux and Félix Castonguay.

Patrick Ouellet pitched four solid innings to earn the win. Gabriel Cyr got the save with three good innings in relief. Anthony Fournier took the loss.

Étienne Bergeron, Samuel Pearson and Maxime Hudon each had two hits for the visitors. As did Samuel Laforest for the locals.

Saint-Pascal

In Kamouraska, Antoine Bernier scattered eleven hits to lead Industries Desjardins to a 6-2 victory over Rivière-du-Loup. He recorded eleven strikeouts. Mathew Ramos had a solo homer at his expense while Joseph Sirois-Lebel was 3 for 3.

For the locals, Maxime Bourgelas and Enrick Jomphe also hit the long ball for a total of four in two evenings after those in Rimouski, Sunday.

Andy St-Gelais, in relief of Guillaume Chénard, was the losing pitcher. The latter had to leave the game after an out in the 3rd inning due to a strained muscle.

A large crowd of 317 spectators attended this meeting at the Terrain Familiprix in Saint-Pascal.

It’s a holiday until Thursday in the Puribec League as Rivière-du-Loup will visit Edmundston at 9 p.m. (NB time)
