Charlotte Nettesheim fought in all matches. Although she lost against France, she won twice against Ukraine, making her five-fight win.

When the German team fights on the mat, you get the feeling that only Germans are cheering in the hall. “The spirit was brilliant,” says Christopher Schwarzer enthusiastically. He is extremely positive about the athletes’ performances. “You could already tell this morning that the team really wants to take home the medal. It’s a shame that it wasn’t quite enough against France. But everyone fought until the last second.”

“We are very happy with the bronze medal. The team is also super happy, everyone is absolutely thrilled,” he reports enthusiastically. It is the first time since the introduction of the U18 mixed team competitions in 2018 that Germany has won a medal. Before that, only the girls’ team managed to do that in 2017, when they became European champions.

Charlotte Nettesheim not only showed what she was capable of in the individual competitions and won the European Championship title with ease. She was also an extremely valuable fighter for the team in the team competition and deservedly received the bronze medal. She is now coming home with two medals.
