Chile’s Team ParaChile Makes History with Record-Breaking Delegation for Paris 2024

This morning the classification of four representatives of the #TeamParaChile of para powerlifting to Paris 2024. With this, the country has 21 qualifiers, becoming the largest Chilean delegation in history at the Paralympic Games.

Jorge Carinao, Camila Campos, Juan Carlos Garrido and Marion Serrano will be present at the Tres Agitos event this year, surpassing the record set in Tokyo 2020, where 19 para-athletes participated.

In order to qualify directly, weightlifters had to be among the top 8 in the world rankings in their corresponding categories, positions they managed to defend in two qualifying competitions this year, in Mexico and Georgia.

“I am pleased with the work process that was carried out and that allowed us to finalize the names of these four athletes as qualifiers for the Paris Games,” said the National Coach, Víctor Rubilar.
