Two victories for Richard Vogel at the CHIO in Aachen: The show jumper from Marburg first won the time trial on the second day in the saddle of Phenyo and then shone in the evening in the Prize of Europe with Cepano Baloubet.

In the Prize of Europe, the second most important show jumping event of the CHIO, the rider from Marburg won on Wednesday evening in the saddle of Cepano Baloubet. Mclain Ward from the USA came second with Callas. The second best German result was achieved by Jana Wargers from Emsdetten, who rode to third place with Dorette.

In the morning, Vogel had already secured his first home victory at the CHIO, winning the time trial in the saddle of Phenyo. Vogel and his stallion were faster than the Irish rider Denis Lynch and Cornets Iberio. The second-best German result was achieved by Mario Stevens from Molbergen, who rode Botakara to fourth place.

Vogel is the most successful German rider at this year’s CHIO so far. He narrowly missed out on victory in the opening jumping competition on Tuesday, taking second place with Cydello behind the Frenchman François Xavier Boudant with Egoki. Vogel has already been nominated for the Olympic Games in Paris with the horse United Touch.
