Colindres City Council Launches Innovative EU-Funded Program for Youth

Colindres City Council has launched a new and dynamic programme aimed at young people in the municipality, financed with European funds. This innovative project, called ‘Europe, stepping on the ‘street’ and aims to revitalise public spaces, encourage physical activity, promote social cohesion among the town’s young people and foster a sense of belonging to the European Union.

The initiative will be developed Over the next two months, Wednesdays and Fridays, and will rotate through different public spaces in the municipality.

The program offers a wide variety of outdoor sports activities, specially designed to attract and motivate young people of all ages and skill levels. From classes floorball, badminton o indiakas, hasta frisbee ultimate and other alternative street sports.

In the words of Mayor Javier Incera (PSOE) “this initiative is designed to inspire young people to lead a more active and healthy life and among its objectives is the idea of ​​promoting the practice of any type of sport or physical activity among this age group and for this reason we launch innovative proposals that we believe may be attractive to them.”

“We also seek to revitalize public spaces and fill the streets of Colindres with life, as well as achieve accessibility for all young people,” he said.

The Councillor for Youth, Santiago Cuevas, explained that “the development of the initiative has been designed by the House of Youth Colindres. Throughout the year we work from the Youth House with our young people and we always try to ensure that the activities we propose and organize are proposals that they themselves have suggested or in which they have shown interest. “It will be through the Youth Service from where the information will go informing the date of each activity and the place where it will take place”.
