During the riots surrounding the final of the Copa America between Argentina and Colombia in Miami, the head of the Colombian association, Ramen Jesurun, and his son were arrested. Both are said to have got into a fight with security personnel at the Hard Rock Stadium. According to police, the 43-year-old son is said to have brought a security guard to the ground and beat him. In total, 27 people were arrested and 55 people were expelled from the stadium.

Jesurun, 71, is also a member of the council of the world association FIFA. More than 800 police officers were deployed at the final at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. The game, which world champions Argentina and their star Lionel Messi won 1-0 after extra time, only started almost an hour and a half late. The reason was fans who tried to get into the stadium without tickets. There were some chaotic scenes.

The stadium will also be the venue for the World Cup finals in two years, which will be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The Miami-Dade district in Florida now wants to revise the security protocol for the World Cup. They are working with the organizers to conduct a comprehensive review of all safety and protection protocols, they said in a statement.
