    Stuttgart – The English referee Anthony Taylor is under massive criticism after his controversial decision in the European Championship quarter-final between Germany and Spain. Despite a clear handball by Spain’s Marc Cucurella in the penalty area, Taylor decided not to award a penalty. This decision led to great outrage in Germany and contributed significantly to the German team’s elimination.

    Referee Taylor already controversial

    Anthony Taylor had already come under criticism in the group stage of the tournament. In the match between France and Holland, he disallowed a goal by Xavi Simons because Denzel Dumfries was passively offside. This decision also caused incomprehension and contributed to Taylor’s controversial reputation.
