Covid is back, watch out for the Grande Boucle

Masks have reappeared on the Tour after a few riders dropped out.

Juan Ayuso, Tom Pidcock, Michael Morkov, Louis Vervaeke, so many riders who have left the Tour route in recent days after a positive Covid test. The Tour management reacted quickly by taking measures with five days left before the finish in Nice. The deputy director of the Tour, Pierre-Yves Thouault, explains the situation: ” We have had feedback from the teams explaining that Covid was active and it seemed appropriate to us to return to wearing masks in all areas where riders and team members are or can be present. So this concerns the protocol zone, the mixed zone (interviews) and the paddocks. »

All followers will now be wearing masks on the Tour route and guests will be asked to wear masks if they want to walk around the team buses.
