Crackdown on Violent Youth Behavior: Porto Garibaldi Police Report Weapons and Drug Offenses During Weekend Checks

PORTO GARIBALDI

The results of the checks carried out by the Carabinieri of the Comacchio Company over the past weekend were two young people reported and one person reported for personal drug use. And the two reports were determined by a bad habit of some young people to carry weapons or objects capable of causing harm in their cars or hidden in backpacks or fanny packs. Objects that, obviously, cannot be carried in public places. It was in this context that a twenty-five-year-old boy who was out and about in his car in Lido delle Nazioni was reported: following a check, the military found a baseball bat hidden between the seats of the vehicle. Instead, a nineteen-year-old boy was hiding a switchblade in his fanny pack, who was stopped by the Carabinieri while he was walking along the Porto Garibaldi seafront: he too was reported to the Ferrara Prosecutor’s Office. Also in the town of Porto Garibaldi, the men of the Arma found a thirty-seven-year-old worker, resident in the Ravenna area, in possession of some doses of hashish: the man was reported to the Prefect for personal drug use. Therefore, the activity of the Carabinieri on the coast continues during the weekends, aimed at ensuring safety on the roads and preventing episodes of ‘bad movida’. In this context, over forty cars and seventy people were checked by the military of the Comacchio Company in collaboration with colleagues who arrived as reinforcements for the summer season, which represents the time of greatest influx of people to the coast for holidays or to spend the evenings in the clubs of the area.
