Following the comments of Karine Jouanneau, president of the Judo Club of Champagne Conlinoise, recently reported in the local press, the sports commission and the municipal council of Conlie also wanted to express their feelings about the sports facilities in the town.

“The sports commission and the municipal council are absolutely not opposed to the creation of a dojo in Domfront-en-Champagne, but are defending the project of two smaller projects: the Domfront Dojo and a sports hall in Conlie, near the André Pioger college.”

“Maybe it is important to unite instead of divide”

“The thinking of the elected representatives of Conlie was that for a forecast budget of maximum €3,500,000 which will be devoted to a single structure by the 4cps could be divided between two infrastructures: a dojo in Domfront and a multi-sports hall for the 400 middle school students of Conlie and the 240 members of the basketball club, 30 multi-sports members, 90 members of the tennis club and the 80 members of the baton twirling club”, specifies the sports commission of Conlie.

“With such a budget, it is perhaps important to unite instead of dividing. The sports commission is well aware of the difficulties encountered by all associations, particularly that of judo, and is trying to respond as best it can with its financial means.”

Commission members ‘deserve respect’

“The 26 sports and cultural associations are supported by the elected representatives of Conlie. It is true that all sports commissions can only regret the departure of a club from its commune, but the distribution of infrastructure across the territory is rather a good thing,” the commission continues.

“The members of the sports committee are present at all the AGMs to congratulate and support the members of the offices, the volunteers and to highlight their dynamism and their investment. They deserve respect in the same way as the elected officials. Let us all be sporty, Madam President, let us all apply the moral code of judo: Maté.”
