After two years with the Seawolves, Derrick Alston is leaving the Mecklenburg-based basketball Bundesliga team. The BBL club announced this on Thursday. The American scored 1,201 points in 71 competitive games for Rostock.

This means that Rostock has lost its top scorer. The 26-year-old American is looking for a new challenge in Europe after two years on the Baltic Sea. “It was a great experience to be in Europe for the first time and to play for such an organization. It helped me a lot both personally and athletically,” said the forward.

“I am grateful from the bottom of my heart for everyone and everything – the city, the fans, just everyone. It was an incredible experience and I wish the Rostock Seawolves much success in the future.”
