Moncalieri is preparing to dive into the Middle Ages, returning for a weekend to experience the sensations and atmospheres of the period of the Knights Templar, with the historical reenactment of the birth of the city and the ancient archery tournament.
See you on Saturday and Sunday at Lancia Park
An event that is confirmed in the suggestive setting of the Lancia Park of Borgata Testona, allowing you to relive a glimpse of the end of 1100 on the origins of Montiscalerii and the Templars in the area. Saturday (from 10 am to 11 pm) and Sunday (from 9 am to 6 pm) the park will revive the atmosphere of the Middle Ages, among period costumes, weapons and settings.
“The historical heritage of a city is an inalienable asset that must be constantly preserved and re-evaluated in order to allow new generations to know and appreciate local history”, underlined the mayor of Moncalieri Paolo Montagna. “It is an event that is aimed at all age groups, with the aim of attracting visitors to our Municipality. Its strength lies in its ability to recreate moments of daily life from that time”.
Jump into the Middle Ages with ad hoc tents and scenography
An accurate scenography will be created with the installation of dozens of historical tents, complete with banners, weapons, armor and the presence of hundreds of figures who will animate this historical fresco, creating an atmosphere of medieval life that will not fail to have a sure hold on the public. “Spectacular during the day with the combat competitions, the ancient archery and the historical reenactment. Even more fascinating at nightfall with the equestrian shows, the Celtic music and the fire juggling”, added Montagna.
Historical groups also arriving from abroad
The big news this year will also be the participation of about thirty historical groups, coming from all over the province, but in some cases also from abroad. Two associations coming from Spain, one from Switzerland and another from France.
Those who love the challenges of knights of times gone by, adore sagas with cloak and sword, weapons and period costumes, really cannot miss it.
