Miami, FL. Dominican Ronny Cruz, from the Top 10 by Mejía academy and at 18 years of age, made history being selected in the 3rd round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft by the Chicago Cubsbeing the best pick of any international player of that age of all time.
Cruz, born in Mao in 2006 and who plays the shortstop positionHe started playing baseball at the age of 5 at the Ronny Rodríguez academy until he was 12 years old and transferred to the Top 10 Academy in Boca Chica.

Ronny Cruz was selected 90th in the Draft, in which 1,200 players are selected, being the best position of all time for an international player before reaching university, and during the last two years he has been developing with an academic scholarship at the Miami Christian School, in the city of Miami, Florida.

Other Latinos and Dominicans had been signed in the US MLB draft, but never in such an early round before arriving at university.
