Dorival Junior Confident in Brazilian Team’s Evolution Despite Group Stage Setback

Dorival Junior showed confidence in the Brazilian team’s evolution in the upcoming challenges.

The technician mentioned the short time of work (six months) and spoke about not “skipping steps” in the work.

“It’s a process. Nobody skips stages in football. This will happen over time, this evolution, as the games go by and the work goes on.”

Brazil came out ahead of Colombia, a result that would guarantee first place and would make the team face Panama in the quarterfinals.

Afterwards, however, the defense gave space, Colombia drew, and Brazil finished the group stage in second place in Group D.

“These fluctuations will happen, it’s a team still being formed. Colombia’s level at the moment is a little different,” he said.

“We understand, yes, that we need to work. In some aspects, things have already evolved,” added the coach.

Brazil will face Uruguay on Saturday (6), at 10 pm, in a single game. The winner will face Colombia or Panama.

The other bracket has Argentina vs Ecuador and Venezuela vs Canada (see dates and times below).
