The 8th edition of the Classic PRO 4×4 Boulevard Chevrolet will be held Friday and Saturday at the Complexe sportif Desjardins.
Seven teams, four in the Pro class and three in the Open class, are taking part. This is slightly less than last year.
“The summer holidays and the Quebec Summer Festival draw a lot of energy. Also, the price of hotel rooms in Rimouski means that players from outside come less and less,” explains the main organizer, Simon Saint-Pierre.

Some former Océanic players and others playing in various professional leagues will be in action: Patrick Coulombe, Alexandre Mallet, François Beauchemin, Gleason Fournier, Charle-Édouard D’Astous, Jimmy Huntinghton, Eliott Saint-Pierre, Luka Verreault, Jordan Lepage, Justin Bergeron, Mathys Dubé (active player), Samuel L’Italien, Olivier Roy-Bellavance, Rémi Anghehart and Louis-François Bélanger.

The Open class mainly brings together players from the region. “It’s a senior caliber like the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie Leagues. There are former AAA college players. We can expect very intense games like in past years,” he continues.
Calendar
Four games are scheduled for Friday night starting at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the action resumes at 9 a.m., with the two finals scheduled for 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., which will pit the teams in positions 1 and 2 in each class against each other at the end of the round-robin tournament.
Admission is $10 per day and it’s free for ages 12 and under. The Jennely Germain Foundation is the cause supported by the event.
Last July, the Doolys team won top honors at the 7th Classic.
Golf pass
In addition, the Pierre-Luc Dubois Foundation (formerly Vincent Lecavalier) golf tournament, which usually precedes the 4×4 Pro Classic by one day, is taking a break in 2024. It will return next year.
