End of Nicolas Batum’s adventure with the Sixers, James Harden extends with the Clippers

End of the adventure for Nicolas Batum in Philadelphia according to The Athletic. Arriving at the Sixers as part of an exchange with the Clippers for the transfer of James Harden, the captain of the Blues will have spent only one season in the jersey of the Pennsylvania franchise, eliminated 4-2 by the Knicks in first round of the play-offs. He played 60 games last season in the NBA, averaging 5.3 points and 2.1 assists.

James Harden, meanwhile, is staying in Los Angeles. Still according to The Athletic, the 2018 regular season MVP has re-signed for two seasons with the Clippers, the franchise he already played for last year, for a two-year, $70 million contract. This new contract includes a “player option” for the second year that will allow him to test the market once again, in a year.

Chris Paul not retained by the Warriors

Chris Paul, for his part, was not retained by the Golden State Warriors. The team and Paul had previously agreed to postpone their decision from Friday to Sunday and it was therefore on Sunday that “CP3” found himself a free agent after his team decided not to activate his “team option” (possibility for a franchise to activate, or not, the last year of its players’ contract).

The All Star point guard will therefore have spent only one season with the Warriors, playing 58 matches for Golden State last season (18 starts), with average stats of 9.2 points and 6.8 assists. He could commit in the coming days to the Los Angeles Lakers where his friend LeBron James plays.
