BarcelonaAfter a series of racist and homophobic reposts made by Enric Masip, former handball player and adviser to Joan Laporta, went viral on X throughout the day yesterday, the Barça leader announced today that he will close his networks social. In the statement, Masip acknowledges that freedom of expression, “sometimes, it can come into conflict with the role one has assigned in the world of work”. In addition, he regretted having put Laporta and Futbol Club Barcelona in an “uncomfortable situation”.
In some of the xenophobic tweets that Masip had republished if they can read ideas like this: “The worst thing is not the acts of the menas, the worst thing is the passivity of the Spaniards seeing how they destroy the country with their tax money. (…) And all this supported by the progressive consensus of the affluent and parasitic political class.”
