There are increasing signs that Ermedin Demirovic is leaving FC Augsburg. Negotiations with a Champions League participant from the Bundesliga are said to be well advanced.

The transfer window in the Bundesliga opens on July 1st, and clubs can then submit their documents to the German Football League (DFL) and complete the transfer. The papers will probably include documents about Ermedin Demirovic. There are increasing signs that the 26-year-old attacker will not return to FC Augsburg after the summer break.
According to several media reports, a move to VfB Stuttgart is imminent. Since striker Serhou Guirassy will be leaving Stuttgart and most likely joining Borussia Dortmund, the club needs a replacement in its center of attack. They have apparently found this in Demirovic. According to information from our editorial team, the deal could drag on, however, as Stuttgart must first generate income through sales. In addition to Demirovic, Stuttgart are interested in a permanent signing of Deniz Undav (Brighton & Hove Albion). A transfer fee of around 20 million euros is being discussed. Demirovic is likely to be similarly expensive; according to industry portal Transfermarkt.de, his market value rose to 28 million euros within one season. The FCA received the highest transfer fee to date nine years ago for Abdul Rahman Baba. The left-back from Ghana moved to top English club Chelsea for 26 million euros.

Demirovic missed the European Championships in Germany with his national team, and he was defeated in the play-offs with Bosnia-Herzegovina. He attracted attention during the last Bundesliga season. With 15 goals, he set an FCA record – no Augsburg player has scored more goals in a first division season – and he also provided the assist for ten goals. He was among the best in the scorers’ list. Behind Harry Kane (Munich/36 goals/10 assists), Guirassy (Stuttgart/28/5), Lois Openda (Leipzig/24/8) and Deniz Undav (Stuttgart/18/10), Demirovic was in fifth place in this statistic. Demirovic could form a dangerous goal-scoring duo with Undav, who VfB loaned from Premier League participant Brighton & Hove Albion and now wants to sign permanently. FCA has already prepared for Demirovic’s departure. On Friday, they signed Samuel Essende (FC Vizela).
It is now almost certain that FCA will sell Demirovic. Augsburg also needs income after spending a total of 14 million euros on new signings Kristijan Jakic (Eintracht Frankfurt), Nediljko Labrovic (HNK Rijeka), Samuel Essende (FC Vizela) and Keven Schlotterbeck (SC Freiburg).
