Swimming

The competition promises to get off to a flying start. A morning session runs from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. (EDT). The events scheduled: 100 m butterfly (women), 400 m freestyle (men and women), 100 m breaststroke (men) as well as the 4 x 100 m freestyle relays (men and women).

The Canadians to watch are Maggie Mac Neil and Rebecca Smith in the 100m butterfly, as well as Summer McIntosh and Mary-Sophie Harvey in the 400m freestyle. The latter event promises to be hotly contested with the presence of American Katie Ledecky and Australian Ariarne Titmus.
