Sports showcase, dragon boat cup, Bahnstadt run and a submarine

Sports fans can look forward to three major events in Heidelberg on the weekend of July 6 and 7.
On Saturday, July 6th, there will be movement on the Neckar. The Dragon Boat Cup starts in the morning. The Bahnstadt Run starts in the afternoon in Bahnstadt. On Sunday, July 7th, from 1 p.m., the Heidelberg Sports Association, in cooperation with the city, invites you to the sports showcase on the Neckarwiese.
Showcase of sports
The variety of popular sports in Heidelberg will be presented at the Sport Showcase on Sunday, July 7th, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Neuenheimer Neckarwiese. Many hands-on stations and information stands invite visitors to try things out for free and make contacts. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim will also be there with a large soccer court and games stage, as well as the MLP Academics with a throwing station. Young and old can learn about baseball, capoeira, rehabilitation sports, rugby, line dancing, cycling and inclusive sailing at the action stands, or take part in obstacle courses. Sports demonstrations will be offered on a stage. A bouncy castle, face painting and culinary refreshments round off the day. More information at www.sportkreis-heidelberg.de.
On the Neckar and in the Bahnstadt
At the 17th Dragon Boat Cup of the Water Sports Club 1931 in the area of the Neuenheimer Neckarwiese on Saturday, July 6, company, club and fun teams with up to 18 people per boat will compete. On the same day, the Heidelberg Gymnastics Club, with the support of the “Lauftreff Bahnstadt”, invites you to the Reischmann Apotheke Bahnstadtlauf on. It will take place at the same time as the summer festival around Gadamerplatz. The races begin at 5.30 p.m.
U-boat docks in Heidelberg
Anyone travelling along the Neckar at the weekend might also catch a glimpse of the U 17 submarine, which is being transported from Speyer to the Sinsheim Technology Museum. It will dock in Heidelberg at around 1 p.m. on Saturday. The B 37 will be completely closed between Theodor-Heuss-Brücke and Karlstor at the weekend. Lines 31 and 32 will be diverted via the “Peterskirche” stop.
