F1: 19-year-old hopeful Oliver Bearman signs with Haas

He had impressed the world of Formula 1 in a single Grand Prix, he will have the opportunity to do so all season from 2025. The 19-year-old driver Olivier Bearman will join the Haas team from next season.

The young Briton, who is racing for Pramac in Formula 2 this year, replaced Carlos Sainz at the last minute in the second race of the year in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The 2021 Formula 4 champion became the 97th driver in history to drive a Ferrari.

Esteban Ocon as a teammate?

For his debut in the premier class, Bearman had gone to get a magnificent 7th place by starting 11th on the starting grid. Protégé of the Scuderia for 3 years now, Oliver Bearman will therefore go to learn the ropes in the sister team Haas.

“It’s hard to put into words what this means to me. To say out loud that I will be a Formula 1 driver for the Haas F1 Team makes me immensely proud. To be one of the few people who can do what they dreamed of as a child is truly incredible,” said Oliver Bearman in a statement released by Haas.

It remains to be seen who his teammate will be. The two current drivers Nico Hülkenberg, who left for Sauber and Audi, and Kevin Magnussen have not been kept for the 2025 vintage. Esteban Ocon, who leaves Alpine at the end of the year, remains one of the possible options.
