McLaren’s Lando Norris set the fastest time in the first free practice sessions of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. The English driver preceded Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin (+0”134) and his teammate Oscar Piastri (+0”211) in 1’27”420. The fourth fastest time was for Max Verstappen’s Red Bull (+0”309).
Ferrari were behind with Charles Leclerc eighth (+0”483) and Carlos Sainz ninth (+0”505), who however showed good race pace.
George Russell’s Mercedes finished fifth (+0”318), while his teammate Lewis Hamilton was seventh (+0”438).
