Filip Misolic makes it into the second round of qualifying for the ATP tournament in Umag.
The ÖTV ace defeated the number 102 ranked Slovakian Jozef Kovalik in three sets with 6:4, 6:7(6) and 6:3.
The first set is a long and hard-fought one. Misolic secures the first break before Kovalik immediately counters with a re-break. After the second break in a row, the player from Graz wins the first set.
Set number two only goes to his Slovakian opponent in the tiebreak with 6:8. In the third set, Misolic stays cool, gets two breaks and converts his third match point to win 6:3 after 2 hours and 39 minutes.
In the final qualifying round, the 22-year-old will face world number 344 David Jorda Sanchis on Sunday (from 6.30 p.m.).
