Flayat. The Flayatois Archers on the rise. Passionate about archery, Aurélio Esteban wanted to share his love for this sport with the inhabitants of the area where he is enjoying a happy retirement. Thus was born the Archers Flayatois club, whose second general assembly was held at the end of the season. The results are positive: memberships are increasing to approach 70 participants.

The association is not an archery club and does not participate in competitions; the activity is organized as part of leisure activities. Sessions take place in the village hall in winter and outdoors when the weather is good, divided by age category. The association is also a partner of Galopins en Marche, the community leisure center that has a branch in Flayat. One of Aurélio’s goals is to promote this sport. The Flayat Archers offer external interventions and are present at certain events such as patronal festivals, the star race and the Flayat carnival. For example, at the Farges bread festival, near Herment (63), they welcomed more than 400 people to try their hand at archery. They will still be there at the beginning of August.
The treasurer presented a positive financial report thanks to resources recorded over two financial years such as patronage and subsidies. Expenditure mainly concerns the purchase of specific equipment and supplies. Contributions remain unchanged from €30 per person.
The resumption of regular activities is planned for September 11 around the reception of new members, the support of all to progress, the promotion of safety rules.
