Former footballer Patrice Evra allegedly failed to provide for his first wife and children, a failure that amounts to around one million euros.

According to information from The Team a you Parisian Patrice Evra was sentenced to twelve months in prison. This Tuesday, the former captain of the French football team was found guilty of “abandonment of family” by the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court.

Divorced from his first wife, Sandra, for several years, Patrice Evra has reportedly not paid child support for his two children since July 2020. A sum that would amount to 969,000 euros. The former Manchester United player is accused of abandoning his family between May 1, 2021 and September 28, 2023.

«The facts are disputed. Mr Evra has appealed” his lawyer Jérôme Boursican told the sports daily.
