Former Major Leaguers Host Baseball Clinic in Arjona’s Campo de la Cruz Stadium

The Campo de la Cruz stadium in Arjona welcomed the League Baseball Players Alumni Association on June 30 to hold a ‘Baseball Clinic’, in coordination with Cemento País, the Ombudsman’s Office and the direction of the governor of Bolívar, Yamil Arana Padauí. “We are going to adopt the stadium, which was the occasion of my visit to Arjona during the election period. I promise to improve it and adapt its surroundings, paving the surrounding streets,” declared Arana after mentioning the investments that the Government of Bolívar has made in Arjona, including: the Don Bosco Educational Institution, the mega-school in the Sincerín district and the Coliseo de Ferias del Norte agricultural center that will serve as a meeting point between farmers and large retailers, facilitating direct purchases from farmers.

The governor took the opportunity to announce the construction of the Departmental Police Command in Arjona, the paving of the road to Las Cabras and another $10 billion in additional street paving, and the prompt supply of drinking water for the towns of Rocha and Puerto Badel.

The Baseball Clinic featured the participation of former major leaguers Ernesto Frieri, Sugar Ray Marimón, Oreste Marrero, Desi Relaford and Mark Worrell, who shared their experiences and knowledge of baseball with more than fifty baseball apprentices from Arjona, Mahates and other municipalities.
