The Washington Wizards have reached an agreement with Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas (32 years old), on the night of Sunday to Monday, according to information from ESPN journalist Adrian Wojnarowski. The pivot has signed with the capital franchise for three years and 30 million dollars.
Valanciunas will join Frenchmen Bilal Coulibaly and the recently drafted Alexandre Sarr next season. The Lithuanian pivot (2.11 m) will form a high-altitude duo with the French interior (2.13 m).
Valanciunas comes out of a full season not having missed a single game with the New Orleans Pelicans, in indisputable starting status. The interior averaged 12.2 points, 2.1 assists, 8.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 23.5 minutes.
