The French women’s artistic gymnastics team, which completely missed its target on Sunday, July 28 by not obtaining any qualification for the Olympic finals of the week, has been “disturbed” by a fall of Marine Boyer “a few minutes away from entering the competition”.

“Marine Boyer fell on her back on the uneven bars. The immediate medical assessment allowed her to compete. The tests carried out at the end of the day are reassuring.”it is written in a communication to journalists via Club France.

The incident occurred during the warm-up before the start of qualifying. The French women finished 11th, with only the top eight teams qualifying for the final stages.

After the rout of the Bleues, for whom this first day of the Games is also the last, the national technical director, Kévin Rabaud, spoke to journalists about“A Nightmare Competition” et “the worst case scenario”. The disappointment was terrible, especially for Mélanie de Jesus Dos Santos, four European champion titles to her name, who ended up in tears, having gone to train two years ago in the United States alongside American star Simone Biles to prepare for these Games at home.
