From Mozart to Jean Matitia, three dates for the New Seasons

The new principal cellist of the Orchestre national de Cannes will play on Friday 12 July “Le Cygne” by Saint-Saëns and dances from Bach Suites, Tchaikovsky ballets and Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella”, accompanied by pianist Tristan Pfaff, a regular at the greatest French festivals, who will play three Waltzes by Chopin alone. Under the pseudonym Jean Matitia, Christian Lauba has composed light pieces in the style of the 1930s which will be played on Thursday 11 by saxophonist Richard Ducros and pianist Sophie Teboul alongside popular pieces by Gershwin and Rimsky-Korsakov.

And starting this Saturday, July 6, the new Furioso string quartet, from the ONBA, will perform Beethoven’s Opus 18 No. 4 and accompany Sophie Teboul in Mozart’s little-known Concerto No. 14.
