The number two seeded American Coco Gauff easily reached the third round of the grass court classic in Wimbledon. The 20-year-old won her second round match against the Romanian Anca Todoni 6:2 6:1 on Wednesday.
Gauff converted her first match point after 1:07 hours of play. In the next round, Gauff will face Sonay Kartal (GBR), who beat Clara Burel (FRA) 6:3 5:7 6:3.

“This is the court I played on for the first time here at Wimbledon. Court one is always a special place for me to play,” said Gauff after her victory. Last year’s US Open winner caused a stir at Wimbledon five years ago when she stormed into the round of 16 as a 15-year-old. However, last year’s US Open winner has never reached the quarterfinals at the third Grand Slam tournament of the year.
